A beautiful 17th Century pub in the centre of the famous tourist destination of Shaftesbury, Dorset.
Mark Tilbrook, Staff and resident Ghost would like to welcome you to the Ship Inn Freehouse in Shaftesbury. At the Ship we offer a wide variety of real ales, ciders, lagers and wines. We don't cook food on the premesis but are in partnership with local restaurants who deliver.
"The cheapest pub in Shaftesbury
The ship has 4 bars. Apart from the main bar we have a games room with pool, darts, fruit machine and an awesome juke box. We have a snug where you can relax in front of an open fire or if you prefer things a bit more modern you can chill out in our newly refurbished lounge bar. Outside we have an area to sit in the sun or shelter in our covered smoking area.
We now have Sky Sports on two giant HD screens.

During the day and early evening you can enjoy a peaceful relaxed pint and some honest home cooked food in this beautiful, eccentric old building but later in the evening things start to get a bit more lively, especially at the weekends. We don't shut early!
The original Ship in Shaftesbury was the Ship Hotel which was opposite Bimport just over the road from where the current Ship Inn is now at the top of Tout Hill.
After the first world war the current premises was a Doctors surgery owned by the very kind and true friend of Shaftesbury Dr Harris who along with 2 other local benevolent businessmen bought and then auctioned most of the buildings in town in the 1918 "Sale of Shaftesbury".
